A square handle decreases contact stress by giving your fingers a flat surface to rest on while crocheting. This is different from a traditionally-shaped round hook, which forces your fingers to rest on a smaller, convex-shaped surface area. This tension caused by a round hook can result in poor circulation and impaired nerves. Eliminating or reducing contact tension (by using a SQUARE™ hook) can significantly reduce pain.

Our crochet hooks come in either a pointed or a rounded tip.
Choose the pointed tip if you are a tight crocheter or working with intricate stitch patterns. The pointed tip allows the hook to easily slip into tight and difficult stitches.
The rounded tip is perfect for splitty yarns, as the rounded tip slips easily between stitches, but not plies of yarn.
The choice of tip is a matter of personal preference and may depend on your particular project! Consider visiting a retailer in person to feel and compare the difference.
